19 | a halo being circular and all

a spinning globe
stubbornly attends noisy gatherings
celebrating with an edge
its only statement
as useless and excessive
as prayer
unguarded sentiments
tame but distinct
to reward the knot of light-hearted folk
assembled in pleats around the parking lot
hammering on a few ideas
one could get caught up in the nostalgia
of a nonexistent movement
caught in the valence of a vaguely contrived ideal
